ANNOUNCEMENTS

Updated: August 26, 2007

I know, I know .... it’s been way too long.

I sincerely apologize for the delay in updating this page. So many things going on.

As you probably heard, the small town of Trinidad and out lying areas got buried under 48" - 66" of snow (depending on where you lived) on Dec. 28th thru Dec. 30th of 2006. We got the 66" on our ranch. Now that was an adventure. Retired Racers was snowbound for 7 ½ days with 8 dogs in the house and only a small shoveled path between snow drifts for all 8 to go potty! Lovely!! The horses were confined to their stalls in the barn because their turnout area had 11 foot drifts.

All in all - we were prepared. The Colorado weatherman had been predicting the storm for a week. Dogs, horses and humans had plenty to eat and drink. But! I was really glad to hear those snowplows coming down the road!

This has been a beautiful summer. The snow brought on wildflowers galore. Now I know why they call it “Colorful Colorado”. August has been hotter than normal and fall is looking real good right now.

I’ve been very busy consulting with pet owners here in Trinidad on alternative medicine for both them and pets. Also doing some grief counseling when a neighbor loses a pet. Funny how some people haven’t heard of

the Rainbow Bridge. What a comfort to them when they are told the story.

Adoptions are slow out here, but I am still helping out the Northern Colorado rescues. Quality homes are more abundant in the big cities. But, hey, we’re working on changing that. Even Dave puts in a good word every chance he gets when he’s out and about horse shoeing.

Keep checking the site - Dave and I are in the process of making changes and putting up new photos. Please be patient; Dave is extremely busy with horse shoeing, his own ranch of greyhounds and horses, and maintaining his role in the Master Masons. I really appreciate the time he makes for our website.
